Your air conditioning contractor is not a builder and in the photo below the installer has cut directly through the roof truss that was in the way of his unit. The truss is a structural support element of the roof and ceiling and its integrity has been compromised. In addition the air conditioning unit itself is suspended from the trusses. This can effect the structural support and cyclone tie down elements of the home and may also cause problems with your property when it is time to sell.

It is always best to consult a building inspector or engineer before making post construction installations or modifying your home.
