The Devils in the Detail

Handover inspections aren't just only about paintwork. One of the most common reoccurring defects we find where builders get it wrong is detailing of waterproofing on bathroom and ensuite cavity sliding door openings. The Australian Standard 3740 – 2010 Section 3.9.1.2 requires the perimeter on the classified wet area to be sealed and waterproofed. Too often we find the aluminium water stop finishing in the cavity and not returning across the bottom of the door jamb, not to the required standard. Embedding guides in tiles is also poor building practice. Coastal Home & Building Inspections Sunshine Coast provides thorough inspections to ensure your home is built to the correct standards.
