Many solar companies install panels on roofs of established homes. Before you have any contractor install panels on your roof you should request to have a specialist engineer confirm the roof framing is suitable to support the weight of the panels. The roof in picture has panels installed on the hip end where no truss is evident. The timber framing has sagged up to 30mm under the weight of the panels visible on the hip.
