Entrapment

The meaning of the word entrapment is the state of being caught in or as in a trap.

One of the little known aspects of Building Reports & Pool Safety Inspections is defining areas that can cause entrapment resulting in injury. Most common issues are sharp objects such as metal elements of fences or pool barrier sheeting or signage.

Pool fence posts often represent an entrapment issue when not properly installed or maintained with caps.

The top of the aluminium post is missing its cover and there are hollow sections and sharp edges that can cause entrapment and injury, resulting in a unsafe, non-compliant pool barrier.

Assessing even the smallest details sometimes are most important part of the building inspection process. Coastal Home & Building Inspection Reports are designed to ensure your safety and peace of mind when purchasing a home or assessing your pool barrier for compliance.
